Artifact Overview
Tricorne hats were a popular style for men in the British colonies during 18th century and became standard issue for soldiers in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. Three-cornered hats continued to be part of infantrymen's uniforms until the turn of 19th century. This tricorne hat from the mid-19th century was likely from a military officer's ceremonial regalia.
