This museum far exceeded our expectations. It’s absolutely massive! We spent about 5½ hours exploring and still didn’t see everything — it’s that big. The outdoor village is a highlight in itself, with a variety of historic buildings and hands-on demonstrations. We watched glassblowing and clay work in action, crawled under an old train, and even explored a sawmill. One of our favorite stops was the Wright brothers’ shop — complete with their bicycle garage in the front and airplane workshop in the back. ... Inside the museum, the collection is just as impressive. From vintage cars that captivate visitors of all ages, to a nostalgic display of old telephones that amazed both us and the kids, there’s something for everyone.

Just amazing to watch the Ford F-150s assembled. I lingered for almost two hours, watching multiple assembly line stations for a few minutes each... how did each station work, how did the parts fit into place, how were they secured, what pieces were installed before which other pieces. Amazing to watch... and then see finished trucks driven out of the building. 900 a day.

The factory was great. We enjoyed the videos explaining how Ford came to be, and the guides on the roof were able to answer all our questions. The factory itself was very interesting and I could have spent another hour exploring.

We have been on a number of car plant tours. They mostly drive you through and point to the procedures as they talk to you on the headphones. While that is a great way to see how our cars are made, the Ford tour lets you walk through at your own pace since it is on an elevated walkway where you can see what is happening without getting in the way. … We spent about 2 and a half hours from bus pick up to bus return. We had a very enjoyable time, thought the films were great, and really enjoyed seeing the cars on the assembly line. ... Highly recommend this activity as part of your visit to The Henry Ford Museum.

I had no idea how automated the building of a car can be. The building is attractive, and the tour is well organized. You'll also get plenty of history. See the observation deck and the living roof.

Between the signs and the app, it was clear which buildings had been moved there, were built there using some original material or were built there using new (at the time) materials. ... We had to rush through some of the areas to be able to see everything, so I could have spent one or two more days.

A must see while visiting Dearborn! If you are a historical or architectural enthusiast or just want to spend a nice day with family and friends, Greenfield Village is a wonderful place to visit! Walking in the park surrounded by fascinating historical buildings and beautiful manicured grounds, it almost feels like you have walked into the past! Greenfield Village allows the visitor to enjoy, not only the buildings and grounds, but to appreciate the contributions of so many heroes from all walks of life who have helped to make the world we live in a better place!
