Hello Frisco--written for the Ziegfeld Follies of 1915-- is a love song that also commemorates invention of the transcontinental phone line, introduced at the San Francisco Panama-Pacific International Exposition. To inaugurate the line, Alexander Graham Bell and Thomas Watson recreated the first phone call; this time Bell was in New York and Watson was 3400 miles away in California.
