The leisure suit has become emblematic of the 1970s. Their popularity stemmed from diverse colorways, versatile mix-and-match jackets, shirts, and pants, and the comfortable, relaxed fit. They were considered fashionable across class, race, age, and gender lines; even President Gerald Ford was photographed wearing one in 1975. However, the look went out of style by the end of the decade.
