Augustus K. Mills earned a journalism degree from the University of Missouri and worked in various public relations positions before joining Ford Motor Company in 1949. Four years later, Mills was appointed executive director of the Edison Institute, which was renamed Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village under his leadership. He passed away unexpectedly in 1954.
