Artifact Overview
Ribbon skirts have a long history with many Indigenous cultures, often reflecting the wearer's culture and personality. Cheri Bruegl created this skirt with a turtle motif representing her affiliation with the Turtle Clan and Turtle Island, a name some Indigenous people use for North America. The Many Trail symbol near the hem signifies her ties to the Stockbridge-Munsee community.
