Artifact Overview
Many Indigenous people create or wear jewelry that reflects the wearer's culture and personality. Cheri Bruegl designed this earring-and-necklace set with a turtle motif representing her affiliation with the Turtle Clan and Turtle Island, a name some Indigenous people use for North America. Wearing this jewelry strengthened her ties to the Stockbridge-Munsee community, of which she is a member.
